PM: Assessing condition

About Precious Moments ...

When assessing condition of your Precious Moments, it is usually pretty straight forward.  There might be situations where a collector will assign a higher rating, but make notation of a minor defect.  For example, they may say 'MINT but does not include product cards.'  Technically, 'mint' must contain all original packaging, or it is not 'mint'.

MINT ... brand new condition, includes the original box and all original paperwork that was included in the box at the time of original purchase (if applicable). The box itself is in near-perfect condition and contains little, if any flaws. The item inside the box is in brand new condition and has no flaws; no signs of being out of package.

EXCELLENT ... No apparent flaws to the piece.  It may have been displayed, but no fading or marks.  May or may not contain original box or original paperwork (if applicable).  If box is present, it may not be in ideal condition and could even have creases, tears, scratches, etc. However, the item inside the box is in brand new condition and has no flaws.

GOOD ... Like new condition, but has one or two minor flaws which may include small scratches or light paint wear. However, this does not includes cracks, chips or any missing pieces. The original box and any accompanying paperwork may or may not be present.

FAIR ... Used, displayed or handled condition. It most likely has been handled and may contain scratches, paint wear, minor chips, dings or even small cracks. The original box and any accompanying paperwork may or may not be present.

POOR ... Used, displayed or handled condition. It was most likely dropped one or more times and shows significant wear. It may contain scratches, paint wear, chips, dings, cracks and/or missing pieces. The original box and any accompanying paperwork may or may not be present.
